He grew up in East Los Angeles and at a young age, proved to be quick at mastering things. Due to his logical skills, he was placed into the gifted program in the 1st grade. At 6, he played violin and performed at school concerts. In the 6th grade, counslers offered to move him into Jr.College. His Parents, unable speak English and financially do this, had to declined. J-vibe continued doing things that other kids could care less about. He taught himself computer programming and electronics at 12. While most 12 year kids where jammin Oldies But Goodies, J-vibe went to a Hollywood disco club called "Gino's" (got in with the help of his brother). At the club, the speakers pounded electronic NRG music and that's when decided he wanted a synth. He built a music synthesizer at 13 and made money working at a bakery. Side jobs included repairing Atari's and Coleco's for classmates. He also made a Pirate Fm transmitter and had a 1 mile radio station where he played his creations. He did Bboy dancing in downtown Los Angeles on Broadway at the Arcades in the early 80s. It was about this time he started making beats using tape loops and the synth he made. At 15, he started working in an Accounting firm modifying and programming business software, He purchased his first synth, a Korg Poly-Six. Making Ambient music during high school was his love after getting hooked on Tangerine Dream, Jean Michael Jarre, Tomita and the like. At 18, he released his first electrofunk single called "Velocity, Speed and Force" by VSF which was on Dunk Yer Funk Records in San Pedro, CA. Then, in 1990, released "The Wabbit" by Renegade MC. He started making House Music and Freestyle in the late 80s/early 90s. At 20, he and his brother Smax purchased a home with the money they made. During the 90s, he made a lot of beats for street rappers. Mid 90s, started making Techno and early Trance. By the late 90s, he released dozens of vinyl records of Funky House on international labels including one on Carl Cax's LAX CD with sales over 250,000 copies. In early 2000, he worked with Latin singers making Spanish Rock, Euro Dance, R & B, Hip-Hop and Electro. By Mid 2000s, he's working on everything from Electronica/Trance/Hip-Hop/Experimental/Classic/Spanish and other styles.
